Is he cashing out now because he does not believe in the long term performance of Tesla? Or this is just cash needed to keep Twitter afloat right now?
If the latter, the amount of cash he is pouring into Twitter will need an spectacular financial performance to recoup it in few years.

- smcn 4y agoMost likely all of the above. It goes without saying that TSLA is TREMENDOUSLY overvalued, and he has to be aware of that. He should be taking cash out here and there before the bubble bursts. Also, the interest payments alone on Twitter are not, in any way, sustainable. I doubt he'll be able to recoup any of the money invested and that may be okay with him because it buys him control of a massive audience of influential people. Or Twitter gets a lot more user hostile and they vacuum up every last piece of data they can get on its users.
- HDThoreaun 4y agoI mean my take is that he bought twitter as an excuse to offload his overvalued TSLA, so I guess both.
