Another part of this is that driving is a lot of fun. People (like me) really enjoy it and definitely wouldn’t give it up easily.
- wefarrell 4y agoPiggybacking on that sentiment, car ownership becomes less an expression of individuality when cars are driving themselves. No point in owning an expensive sports car when it's the one doing the driving. Ride-sharing and fractional ownership start to make more sense than owning the car outright.
