  That’s one interpretation. The other is that personally reaching out to the creator, sharing his concerns and showing respect for the time investment was a kind, honest thing to do. (And that for the creator to refuse, not because he didn’t want to sell, but because he hoped to get more money out of Elon, not because of any worthwhile contribution of him, or because it was his data, but simply to take advantage of the concerns Elon shared with him, was dickish.)
