It seems like there is a lot of pressure these days for people to find their "passion" or their life's work. But I think there are only a small subset of people who have that kind of single-minded focus. I used to get anxious about the fact that I did not have a passion.
I have many varied interests and hobbies, but that dilution of interest prevents me from really excelling in one thing or having anything close to a "life's work".
I've now realized it's ok to not have a that passion for one thing. I'll never create my version of a Dwarf Fortress. I'll create small things that make me happy, and know a little bit about a lot of things. And I'm ok with that.

I feel like I might stretch myself too thin and not be able to "become" anyone because of this. It's also because every low-hanging fruit was discovered or invented already, so presumably, in order to invent anything new you would be required to focus 100% of your time for 1 thing. And I hate this. So it's not possible for me to be interested in multiple things and avoid this feeling that I'm wasting my time? Anyways, I'm also ok with that. I'll let interest guide me in my life journey.
