No, this is publicly available information. Flight tracks are not private
- nodesocket 4y agoSo are phone numbers and addresses if you look hard enough, but Twitters policy “or they claim” is to protect against doxing and such right?
- hef19898 4y agoFlight plans are public, passenger lists are not.
- hef19898 4y agoEven the CIA flights of kidnapped people to the various black prison sites were public. Using that data, the Austrian Airfoce intercepted and escorted one of those flights out of Austrian airspace.
- starkd 4y agoIt doesn't matter if its publicly available. To aggregate the data in such an easily accessible form is an invitation to crackpots. Few crackpots are going to seek out such information unless they are truly dedicated from the get-go.
- rootusrootus 4y agoCrackpots were already using FR24, or just their own ADS-B receivers if it was local. The twitter account is just for entertainment.
- chinathrow 4y agoNot correct. FR24 does not show many many aircraft.
- rootusrootus 4y agoOkay, ADSBExchange then. FR24 is definitely not the only ADS-B game in town.
- ctvo 4y agoIf that's your view on privacy, fine. But what about these accounts? - https://twitter.com/BillGatesJet https://twitter.com/BillGatesJet - https://twitter.com/bezosjets https://twitter.com/bezosjets This selective ban is indefensible, obviously personal, with no ties to any overarching principals.
- tmptmpgo 4y agoOh you mean like how Trump invited crackpots to the capitol? You seem to want to both ways.
- starkd 4y agoI didn't even mention Trump. Someone has Trump living rent free in his head!
- aeturnum 4y agoBefore ElonJet was suspended their pinned tweet pointed out that Twitter's acceptable use policy was that it was ok to republish data generally available elsewhere - which is exactly what this is. It would be illegal to operate the jet and not publish its location.
- emodendroket 4y agoSo we are imagining someone is dedicated enough to go to jail for the rest of their lives for some assassination attempt but not quite dedicated enough to look up information themselves?
