I can't say I've experienced this (at least not regularly) ever since I returned to Firefox a few years ago. I'm a degenerate tab hoarder (usually two or three hundred). I actually switched back to Firefox after I tested and saw how much better it handled my shameful tab hoarding than Chrome did at the time (which would slow to an usable mess). I'm guessing it just has something to do with the differences in sites we visit because I use Firefox on 4 different devices, both macos and Windows (5 if we count Android) and don't have this issue at all. Sending a profile their way as the other person replying said would probably help get this fixed.
