What do you think makes it more unstable than other industries where poverty is the norm for most of the people in it?
- derbOac 4y agoI think there's a lot of other things in society that are similarly unstable, I suppose. But I guess I'd say higher education in the US is in a bubble, and the kind of hypocrisy discussed in the article is one manifestation of it. It's one thing to rely on income inequality openly; it's another to preach one thing and practice another. I don't think higher education is necessarily unique, but that doesn't make it anymore ok to me.
