I give it less than 10 years before Chinese semiconductor manufacturers kill off the Western semiconductor manufacturers just like Chinese manufacturers have killed off other whole industries in the West. (Textiles, Paper, Steel, Electronics, Home Appliances, Cabling, Building Supplies, Tradies' Tools, etc, etc, etc) It's the old easy 'buy-built' or difficult 'roll your own' dilemma that every manager has to decide on. The Chinese had been very content to purchase lots and lots of 'buy-built' semiconductors from the West. No longer.
