I recall when a lot of the “make Uber employees!” sentiment was rolling around, and it always made me wonder: are people really doing this stuff as a full time job en masse? I do Postmates or Instacart when I need some extra cash for a concert or to buy some weed or booze. I can’t imagine trying to do either of those as a steady Eddie job!
- aidenn0 4y agoNot all employees are full-time. I worked retail summers and weekends when I was in school, and was an employee of the retailer...
- vikingerik 4y agoI have a relative who does that for their only job - drive and deliver for Doordash, Ubereats, and Wal-mart's in-house delivery service. It's possible to find pretty steady work across all the apps for those, particularly when there's multiple deliveries overlapping on similar routes. I'm not sure if it's quite a living wage overall, particularly considering car maintenance and depreciation which hasn't really hit yet.
