I would say that talent is a useless idea. What really matters is an openness to new ideas, the courage and diligence to pursue them, and a genuine interest in success. Sometimes these things do not appear at all in someone but then as they acclimate themselves to an environment, they polish themselves to a shine. How do you even define talent anyway? If it's just something you're good at, enough practice will get you there provided you are physically able.
