Nice product and culture but localised pay for remote means you can do better salary wise if you live in a LCOL. Last time when they had the open calculator it wasn't worth it, I was making more working remote for unknown companies in UK / Switzerland than I would working for GitLab as a manager. That's also how you can save FANG money without dealing with performance reviews or other FANG bs politics: high (but not FANG high) pay somewhere, low cost of living and minimal taxes.
