It's understandable to have that initial reaction, but if we remove emotion from it we have to at least acknowledge that Fauci did in fact lie to the public on more than one occasion. Rather than arguing about whether or not these "noble lies" were justified, we're better off discussing how public health officials can regain the trust of the public since we may very well need it soon.
