The Great Delusion Behind Twitter
- bfeynman 4y agoI have stopped reading HN as much now due to how much spam is on it about twitter. It's mind boggling and almost funny how egotistical and sycophantic all these silicon valley people think that: 1. People care about twitter. Too many people who got lucky once looking to strike again arguing how big of a deal any of the dumb pointless news about twitter is. Twitter was not growing, they didn't innovate or launch new things. Most adult americans are/were on facebook and the like - That is not true for twitter. Vast majority of people don't tweet just follow popular thing X, If google wanted to, they could provide a saved search timeline and show you new news about those things. Now the right wing is latching on as the new thing of free speech as the thing they they care about because causing outrage is literally just how they make money. That will be gone as soon as they cycle to the next (immigration/ fentanyl/ china/ covid ) crisis.
