Recovering components of disposable cameras (2017)
- 13of40 4y ago> Several minutes after popping the flash and removing the battery, I still measured more than 100 volts on the contacts, due to residual charge retained on the main capacitor after the flash tube extinguished Can confirm. I was playing with one of these when I was a teenager and decided to see if I could shock my arm and make it jerk. The sequence of events was supposed to be... 1. Grasp one electrode in left hand. 2. Pick up the other one with my right hand and tuck it under my left shirtsleeve. 3. Depress the take-a-pic button and watch magic happen. In reality, step 2 shocked me from arm to arm, straight through my chest.
