I do not know much about tesla maybe they have a board and can kick him.
- sidibe 4y agoThe short term problem is kicking him would make Tesla a more normally valued car company, which would destroy shareholder value. I really think most of Tesla's value comes from a belief in Elon the individual delivering his endless escalating promises. Much bigger car manufacturers are worth a small fraction of Tesla and are starting to chip away at it's EV market share. That will probably accelerate as Tesla now comes across as a political statement to some. Keeping him is probably worse for the actual bottom line with the brand damage and all the liabilities he piles on the future like FSD and preselling vehicles that don't get made, but causing the crash in prices is bad for the current investors.

It's speculation. > but causing the crash in prices is bad for the current investors That's the risk you take when you speculate. If the speculation was wrong then, yes, that will cost those left carrying the can. And those who bought low and sold high were effective at lining their pockets with wealth transferred from credulous rubes.
