Generally no, it's a more uplifting news source than other sites. I don't think you should be anxious reading some of the pragmatic truth about these tech ideas. I would feel anxious reading about war and climate change, those are deteriorating situations rather than failure of progress. HN also has better comments that don't tend to go towards insulting or argumentative.
