Whatever the merits, the most salient point on the issue is that nuclear power, by and large, doesn't matter. It's below 5 % of total now and was at about 15 % at its highest.
- panick21_ 4y ago20GW of nuclear instead of 20GW of coal actually matters quite a lot. Also capacity is a dumb thing to look at. There can be week long streches where solar has like 5% utilization. Of course Germany could have done what France did, there the graph looks quite different if you go back to the 1960 to now.
