I dispute the word "talented" here. A talented PA, and one I would pay good money for, would not need me to closely proof read every single piece of correspondence they write. It would be faster for me to do it myself.
And this is why AI in its current form will not be accepted for serious applications, or where it is, we will see a severe decrease in quality.
- geon 4y agoIt is a big step up from the current digital assistants like Apples Siri. Just that it can keep a context and refer back to it is a huge step. But creativity and consistency is still lacking. I tried using ChatGTP as a dungeon master, and I was initially very impressed, but it kept insisting that my “journey will be long and treacherous”, but nothing treacherous happened.
- EugeneOZ 4y agoNo, it can not be compared to Siri or other existing assistants. ChatGPT can be very delusional and very self-confident. For example, if you ask ChatGPT to bring some quotes about some topic - all of them (or most of them) will be fake. ChatGPT can fake anything, and often does. It is ok for ChatGPT. For Siri and other assistants it is an impossible error - they are not programmed to imagine things and generate fakes.
- macrolime 4y agoUnlike Siri it can do more than just set an alarm.
- thdespou 4y agoYeah it's all bells and whistles in the beginning but most of the time you have to do half the job for something ever simple like writing an email explaining your situation. I think it gives false hopes.
- sundarurfriend 4y agoPAs can have a wide variety of tasks, and a talented PA could be one that's great at organizing plans, handling calls, implementing processes, have a whole slew of abilities that could be of higher value to the person than their writing skills. Such a person would still be a talented PA, just not a perfect platonic ideal of one.
