The reason I support punishing the guilty instead of letting them get away with it is because I'm a realist. It's pacisfists who are the optimists. Pacifists who say we should just let Cheney and Blankfein off the hook. I say we should tar and feather them, precisely because I understand that if we don't, things will get worse. This is not an optimistic viewpoint.
