Now your engineers need to understand all these technologies instead of just postgres. As usual the correct answer to when to repurpose existing tech in your stack and when to add new tech depends on your specific needs, team size, etc.
- sonthonax 4y agoThe majority of engineers understand basic SELECT and INSERT semantics. Correctly building queuing and caching systems on top of database concurrency primitives is an order of magnitude harder than just using RabbitMQ and Redis.
