If you’re just starting, or planning to rewrite later, or for good reasons never expect huge scale, staying as simple as possible makes sense. Also, tons of devs build to scale huge for systems that will never, ever scale huge. I have two competing values in this space: someone else has solved problem x better than you will, and you will live to regret every dependency you introduce.
