I remember a Norwegian hotel at the airport that had led lights in the window casings and thin curtains that didn't fill the whole window. I am assuming that the windows are lit to make the hotel look modern and inviting from the outside. Maybe they are so used to the midnight sun that it reminds them of summer? In my home, it is amazing how many devices emit a blue or green colored light.
