I misread the title as "Unix is a..." and got to thinking about how you could map unix-style command line programs to instructions in a VM.
- hcs 4y agoNeat idea. I'm imagining something like an FPGA or MPPA [1], where you program an interconnect (pipes) between dozens of available cores (processes), which can be configured to do one of a few hardcoded types of stream processing (commands) with a few flexible options (switches).
