- skissane 4y agoDo you use Cloudflare DNS, 1.1.1.1? It is a known issue that archive.ph/md/vn doesn’t work with that due to some dispute its operate has with them. Cloudflare refuses to send some DNS option on privacy grounds, which the operator of that site insists they need; in response, they configured their DNS servers to block Cloudflare.
- greenyoda 4y agoJust wanted to add that archive.* works OK with NextDNS, which both Firefox and Chrome allow you to select as a DNS provider for DNS-over-HTTPS.
- smeej 4y agoI use 1.1.1.1 and use archive.ph practically every day without issue. I'm not sure this info is current.
- skissane 4y agoIt definitely used to be true, and if it isn't true any more, it isn't clear when it stopped being true. I found someone 9 months ago reporting the issue was still happening for them – https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=30737328 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=30737328 – so maybe something has changed in the last 9 months.
