Public policy always lags behind science a bit, which seems obvious. And yet at the same time the public seems to be widely confused about the directionality, and there are societal problems which emerge from this confusion, especially because the way humans think. People are scientists, so it seems natural to think some scientists are more scientific than other scientists. That mindset retards scientific advancement. The military is less impacted by this, because they can’t afford to be retarded, scientifically.
