Total comp yes, not salary like OP is talking about. Only a handful of companies have total comp that doubles base thanks to RSU and stock, which a vast majority of the worlds ~25MM programmers do not participate in.

- tomnipotent 4y agoIt's amazing how skewed the HN crowd is on developer comp. You'll find that $140-150k is senior range for a vast majority of the U.S. software engineering market.
- boredtofears 4y agoNow you're just moving goalposts. 140k is not "very high" pay for a senior software engineer anywhere in the US.
