If you want to be able to edit more than a single word or two, I'd rather have the Word doc, it can at least handle wrapping text, widow control etc. (even if the format is a moving target and even MS can't seem to always handle it... so yes, in 20yr you'll need to do your edits via DOSBox). If you only need to read it, PDF wins certainly.
