I don't work for the Federal government. The order(s) were very broad and reached far far down the chain so as to effect as many people as possible.
- nwiswell 4y agoIt applies to anyone paid with federal money. That's constructively the same as being employed by the government. Again, free association cuts both ways... If you don't have to work for the government, why should the government be obligated to employ / pay you? That is the opposite of force.
- yucky 4y agoFederal money is our money. They don't make money, they take ours.
- nwiswell 4y agoRight, yeah, so the implication of XO 14043 being that the 80% of people who are voluntarily vaccinated are not down with the government taking their money in order to pay it to people who are voluntarily unvaccinated.
- yucky 4y agoThe majority of Covid deaths now are from people who are vaccinated. It's time we stop pretending to have an excuse to treat others poorly because they're not part of the "in group". It's just authoritarianism and a lot of people are super comfortable with it when it's used against "the others". https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/11/23/vaccinated-people-now-make-up-majority-covid-deaths/ https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/11/23/vaccinate...
- nwiswell 4y agoThat's actually even more argument why it's important to reduce your risk of passing on the virus, then: because it can kill even vaccinated people. Anyway, from the article you linked, here's the punchline: > Unvaccinated people over the age of 5 had about 8 times the risk of dying from a coronavirus infection than those who received a booster shot. Yeah, so more deaths among vaccinated people is merely a product of the fact that more people are vaccinated
- yucky 4y ago"Our data from the CDC today suggests that vaccinated people do not carry the virus, don't get sick, and that it's not just in the clinical trials, but it's also in real-world data." ~Director of CDC Sorry, the trust is gone. They lied on purpose. The only question that matters now is, how do they ever get it back? It's gonna take a LONG time.
- nwiswell 4y agoTotally unrelated to the question of whether vaccines are efficacious or not. If I was from Germany or the UK, why would I even care what the CDC said? The study linked at the top of this thread finds this effect across all developed nations.
