What I can tell you, is that in Julia, it is so easy to use multiple threads effectively, that even though I don't feel that confident writing complex multithreaded code, most my performance sensitive scripts are multithreaded where it's obvious to do so. Threading may be easy but the approach they are taking is not very performant for various hardware-related reasons.
