OP here. This is a curated job board to find jobs at privacy-focused companies and organisations. It includes both remote and non-remote jobs, and ranges from internships to C-suite roles, technical and non-technical.
The aim is to bring talented individuals and privacy-first workplaces together, increasing job satisfaction and employee retention, and contributing to a safer internet.
There are still several improvements I want to make so if you spot anything or have feedback, I’d be grateful for any suggestions.
- dontbenebby 4y agoThanks for this resource! I remember back before the "Summer of Snowden" enrolling in a PhD because if you were pro privacy (and thus anti invasive ad tracking ala GOOG, FB et al), there were very few roles. (Even today, many a "privacy" role seems to be "help my bitcoin company avoid the Treasury Department) Good luck with your project.
- tagawa 4y agoThank you, I appreciate the support. In building the database, I was pleasantly surprised at the number of under-the-radar (or at least I hadn't heard of them) organisations, and I'm sure there are more I've yet to find.
- dontbenebby 4y agoYou've got a few that are pro privacy in the "pro individualism to the extreme degree" lumped in there with some good ones, just so you know. I've been in this space a long time. And now, I must hand off this nym to the new owner. Goodbye!
- throwaway900113 4y agoHi OP, why is ECOSIA in there? They are anything but privacy first. They sell your data and they had a ridiculous amount of 3rd party js in their search page when I last looked at them.
- tagawa 4y agoHi. I included them in the job board because they offer private search, and according to their website: "We don't create a profile of you or sell your personal details to advertisers." They also say they don't use third-party trackers, and uBlock Origin (as well as Brave and DuckDuckGo browsers) didn't show any third-party tracking alerts. However, if you have links to evidence of tracking or privacy issues, I'm happy to re-think their inclusion.
