Ask HN: Ways to stay up-to-date on ChatGPT?
The internet moves fast. AI even faster. What are some good ways to stay up-to-date? Currently my resources are the OpenAI discord and HN itself. I wonder if there are other good resources
- minimaxir 4y agoIt has literally been active for only 7 days.
- b212 4y agoThis is the definition of FOMO ;)

- m348e912 4y agoReddit has a chatgpt subreddit and twitter has been pretty good too.
- endofreach 4y agoElon must not be happy. If twitter wasn‘t able to tell bots apart before, good luck now…
- metadat 4y agoThere is also a discord, I've heard. I wish I had the join link but don't (as of now).
- m348e912 4y agoOP mentioned he is in the ChatGPT discord already. But the link is https://discord.com/channels/974519864045756446/ https://discord.com/channels/974519864045756446/ Searching twitter for chatgpt or gpt and sorting by "latest" seems to bring up a fair amount of discussion. I expected HN to light up with insane number of posts and conversation on chatgpt but to my surprise that has not been the case. There has only been a handful of posts in the last 7 days that made it to the front page. Using chatgpt feels like discovering the internet again or bitcoin. Potentially the same level of disruption or more.
- adversaryIdiot 4y agoExactly, while not intelligent, chatGPT seems to have a LOT of potential. I wanted to make sure i was catching all the cool things people have been doing with it. So ill hit up twitter
- p1esk 4y agoChecking HN is not enough?
- seydor 4y agoThere is nothing about it in the frontpage. TBH , for a "hacker" site that is weird because CGPT is da bomb. Instead the top spot is about some business criminal , which has very little to do with hacks
- p1esk 4y agoHere’s a list of submitted HN stories mentioning “chatgpt” in the last 24 hours: https://hn.algolia.com/?dateRange=last24h&page=0&prefix=false&query=chatgpt&sort=byPopularity&type=story https://hn.algolia.com/?dateRange=last24h&page=0&prefix=fals... At least two front page submissions, and literally dozens if you expand search to the last 7 days. Very hard to miss.
- seydor 4y agoThat is nothing compared to the buzz you see elsewhere. It's like HN just doesn't care about a major advance in computer tech
- p1esk 4y agoIt’s a chatbot that is confidently wrong half the time. Perhaps a minor improvement over gpt3. Not suitable for any serious activities. But sure, it deserves a footnote in future AI history books.
- seydor 4y agoNoted. However I am amazed at how little HN engages with CGPT, compared to any minor announcement That Apple Inc. makes
- jalino23 4y agoit just came out?
- seydor 4y ago7 days, that s a long time
- gardenhedge 4y agoI think being aware of it and it's uses and limitations is "up-to-date" enough for now.
- gaurangt 4y agoI have been following all the screenshots on Twitter! Gave me some good hacks to push the limits of the tech.
- hackerman123469 4y agoMake a calendar event that notifies you in 6 months about it and then check it out.
- seydor 4y agor/ChatGPT r/openAI
- wizofaus 4y agoChatGPT itself doesn't bother staying up-to-date - I wonder at what point they'll give it real-time internet access...
