I recently learned that a word for precisely this sort of person exists, "parvenu."
- nadavr 4y agoNot sure what you mean by "precisely this sort of person", but a "parvenu" is better thought of as the inverse of a "pariah" -- someone from an outgroup who has achieved special acceptance, status, and celebration.
