How can I express the above (no lawyers) wo bumping on the guidelines?
Maybe I’m not understanding how you define “personal attack”.

Re why I described your comment as an attack: "I don't really care what you think if you're a $foo" and "find a community of your own to post in" are hostile if not outright aggressive. Of course jrm4 is welcome here. We don't want HN to be a place where people hound other people out of the community. - dontbenebby 4y agoOk thanks, I understand better. Also I don’t have the data to support it but often if I get one vote it’s who I replied to so a flag and an upvote seemed odd. I’ll lurk more and try to stay positive.
