Only yesterday I embraced the idea that we might have an actual AGI within a decade. Today, I embrace the idea that if it does exist, I should find some way to fuck it. I don't know why, but I don't think I will accept we live in the future otherwise.

- pdpi 4y agoI don’t think a true AGI would stay emotionless for very long. If it has emotions and a personality, they could be sufficiently human-like that you might genuinely fall in love with it, and vice versa. Physical intimacy with a partner is an important part of the human condition. At some level, “fucking the AI” is a crude way of putting it, but the idea is at least somewhat reasonable.
- zasdffaa 4y agoEmotions have a purpose - disgust to keep us away, love to keep us together, lust to procreate, fear to chase us from danger. Without a purpose for an emotion, it's hard to see why these would happen. And maybe their emotions would be baffling to us because their world is so alien.
