There are two questions I would ask: * Can you imagine a better world where the goods and services this company provides aren't needed? * Does it seem like the company is moving us closer to that world, or does it seem more like they would do everything in their power to prevent that world? It may be a bit of both. For instance, you could be writing software that the company will desperately try to monopolize, but also in that capacity contribute to open source software that your company uses that others could use to compete with it.
