Speaking as a member of the “dirtbag left”, there has always been separate and unequal treatment for those of us who pair the aggressive posting style of folks who talk so derisively about an invisible man in the sky as they demand as much or greater reverence for an alleged invisible hand in the market.
The core issue is having it ambiguous who can break the rules and when, married to a purposefully inadequate set of reporting tools.
(For context, I actually interviewed to do UX research on anti-abuse features at Twitter back around the time of the 2016 election, and they declined not only to hire me but didn’t fill the role at all… I remember because it was the same day as the Turkish Coup attempt.)
Anyways Elon is terrible but it breaks my heart since Twitter is a good way to discover new news sources / articles in a way unreplicated by Reddit (which has its own… special… issues.)
