    When this happens, the machines will decide they don't need us any more and we'll be eliminated. I'm not entire sure the machines would be wrong.

      "I'm not entire sure the machines would be wrong." Well and if that mindset is coded (subconsciously) into the AI, it will happen as a self fullfilling prophecy. But as of right now - the machines absolutely would need us. There is no machine capable of self replicating anywhere close in sight.
