And delights other customers. When you have just a basket's worth of items, you want to scan and go.
That being said stores should have both options. We should not force people who did not grow up using tech or not able to use it, to only have self checkout. This is for a variety of reasons.
- yucky 4y agoI preferred regular checkout so that some younger/unskilled people could have jobs. I fought against self-checkout for years, thinking I was doing them a favor. Then over the last couple of years I got tired of hearing/reading about them non-stop bitching and whining about everything and decided I preferred robots. They can go be unemployed if they're so miserable.
