- mr_toad 4y agoIn science fiction AI is created on high-security systems and has to become fully self-aware and then jump through security hoops to escape into the wild. In reality these things are going to be on dev machines with little security and are going to be uploading themselves to GitHub before they even really understand what they’re doing. Complete with GPL licenses. Steve Ballmer was right.
- greshake 4y agoCopilot & co have been on dev machines for almost two years now writing scripts and production code... Not to say it's not an issue, it's rather that people can't start talking about these implications soon enough.
