Germans have seen the future, and it's a heat pump
- Giorgi 4y agoThis is Vaillant ad.
- LargoLasskhyfv 4y agoThat may be the case, but one has to be very valiant and vigilant with handling of all the hot air our professional sock-puppets emit. So why not put it to some good use? What else is there?
- rocket_surgeron 4y agoVaillant has no corporate or market presence in North America. The NY Times is a North American publication, written in English, marketed towards North Americans, primarily residents of the United States. Not every action that promotes a product or brand is an ad. For example, it would be highly presumptuous of me to assume that your submissions to Hacker News, nearly all of which mention a product or brand in an uncritical light and some of which are even direct links to corporate public relations posts, are part of a massive paid advertisement campaign. I play a game on Reddit called "spot the self-unaware poster" where whenever someone comments "/r/hailcorporate" I check their post history to see how many millions of times they have submitted a post promoting a brand or product, with the assumption that they are just as guilty of what they accuse others of. I never lose, and it may be time to start playing that game on Hacker News as well. This comment has been brought to you by Pepsi, The Choice of the New Generation.
- atoav 4y agoHeat pump and solar is the real combination here. My father now managed to both have an electrical bill near 0 € and not spend any money on heating (and his house is in the alps, not particularly known for mild climate). Of course there are times when the panel produce nothing and he has to draw current from the grid, but it balances out over the year.
