- chucksmash 4y ago+1, would also like to read more. It definitely sounds like something that could be right. I could also imagine that companies started doing this in a philanthropic way and then later realized there was a useful signal in their data (i.e. my initial cynical "yeah, that makes sense" reaction is more to do with my outlook than their motivations).
