Jeremy Clarkson is the son of a woman who sold unlicensed, knock-off paddington bear dolls so well that the author of the books eventually decided to just license the bear to her for production.
It is his mother's explicit opinion that without the millions of dollars she earned doing that Jeremy wouldn't have been part of the British upper class and wouldn't have had the success he has. His family was very rich when he was a child.
He's an anecdotal case from a classist society and his success probably should not be used in a generalized discussion about IQ. In general, Britain has been so thoroughly classist that it's hard to make any meritocratic statements about any British people over about 40.
Also the Brits don't have SATs? It's a very weird chain of arguments.
