What I'm wondering about this is: if the pandemic that just swept the world is a virus, what did it integrate into our DNA? Virii as vectors to incorporate some genetics into a genome is pretty interesting...how many phenotypic features (like eye, or hair on skin, or liver able to process chemical X) begun life as viral incorporations? Is this process happening all the time? Are we being mutated (on average) by every virus we get?
