It's page after page of "Would you like to add thiiiiiis lovely service to your domain purchase wink, wink <HUGE GRIN>?" None of the additional services are required. You do not have to buy your SSL through GoDaddy if you are registered with them. You don't have to buy anything other than the domain through them, but they go out of their way to make it feel otherwise.
