Not to personally attack at all. Honestly. But, JF- your profile says you are a developer evangelist for Microsoft. Which is one of the biggest supporters of SOPA.
Do you think it's a little unfair to provide an opportunity to pressure YC companies that use GoDaddy for their domains because of their SOPA stance while evangelizing for a company that has the same stance?

- davidhansen 15y ago...you are a developer evangelist... ...while evangelizing for a company... It should be noted that developer evangelist is a position that evangelizes on behalf of the developers, not the company. The role is generally one of ensuring that the non-developer parts of the business remain respectful of the unique needs of programmers, test engineers, and tech project managers. So unless MSFT handed him a meaningless title, he likely does NOT evangelize for the company, and in fact is likely the strongest voice inside the company against SOPA( e.g. extolling the developers' position to the SOPA supporters in the piracy-prevention-related divisions, etc ).
- nestlequ1k 15y agoMicrosoft has got all kinds of issues, but I haven't seen them push SOPA at all. They could be more vocal against it, but so could every tech company.
