I asked it for java code to reverse a string. And then asked if it could pull the reversing method out into a separate function. Which it did flawlessly.
- senko 4y agoDefinitely a part of it is access problem - it would be great if we had an open source version we could unleash on our complete projects locally. Or just give ChatGPT access to the github repo! I'd still be willing to bet entire (nontrivial) projects would be too complex for it to give accurate (not just plausibly looking) results. Not to diminish the achievement in any way - I think this (& copilot) are useful additions to the programmer's tool belt.
- jvm___ 4y agoYou can paste java code into it and ask for a new field to be added. Not sure if it can fix logic errors.
