Rishi Sunak pledges police powers to tackle illegal protests
- hunglee2 4y agoVery important for social stability and economic prosperity to suppress people's protests. If UK Govt didn't do this, imagine what chaos could be fomented by foreign powers bent on regime change
- 2devnull 4y agoVery very different from China of course. Just to add an important distinction to your point. Emperor Xi is not in any way comparable to Rishi and the UK may be getting close to having a majority of their citizens foreign born at this point. Apples and oranges would greatly understate the dissimilarity.
- rektide 4y agoWhat we're actually talking about is climate protesters who caused some inconvenience to draw attention to an existential threat to all humanity. And being hardass jerks & sanctioning increased state violence & disruption against these folk.
