Oddly reminds me of Emily Dickinson:
I’m Nobody! Who are you?
Are you – Nobody – too?
Then there’s a pair of us!
Don't tell! they'd advertise – you know!
How dreary – to be – Somebody!
How public – like a Frog –
To tell one’s name – the livelong June –
To an admiring Bog!
- warent 4y agoWow this is really nice! It also somehow feels enlightened too Is there a good book of her work you'd recommend, or just grab any that's as full as possible?
- 50 4y agoThe poem above is from my copy of The Essential Emily Dickinson: Poems, Selected and with an Introduction by Joyce Carol Oates (978-0-06-266887-5).
- Ghoyome 4y agoThis brought back amazing memories of 8th grade. Thank you for this :)
- gala8y 4y agoWhich reminds me of a nice, not that short, fable by Richard Bandler, Adventures of Anybody, which is a nice take on being Anybody, instead of being Nobody or Somebody. Highly recommended, hypnotic (which was Bandler's intention) read.
