Virtual Codec for Video4Linux (+FWHT Compression) (2016) [pdf]
- peter_d_sherman 4y agoThis Paper is titled "Virtual Codec for Video4Linux" by Thomas Alexander aan de Wiel and was apparently written November 14, 2016... The title, in one man's opinion (mine) -- is a little bit of a misnomer... This should be called: "The best paper on video compression that I have read in a long time" (!) ...with an added bonus description/introduction of/to FWHT (the Fast Walsh–Hadamard Transform https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fast_Walsh%E2%80%93Hadamard_transform https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fast_Walsh%E2%80%93Hadamard_tr... ) (Compare FWHT and what it can potentially do -- with the more popularly used Inverse Discrete Cosine Transform (IDCT)...) Anyway, a great paper!
