Fair points. With global search I was thinking about content search across all public instances. E.g “who’s tooting about TypeScript”. Mainly with the purpose of discovering interesting new content and people to go and follow.
- warrenm 4y agoThat is a search feature/tool (so long as it lives within the bounds of instance-level permissions) that could have a lot of value Showing what's "publicly" posted (to the public) along with what's "instancely" posted (if you're logged-in) could be cool It might even be combinable with some of the various Mastodon indices that show what topics are appropriate for a given instance
